Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia first open in 1996 and the $1.4 billion facility with 1.9 million square feet and employs approximately 1600 personnel. The manufacturer is responsible for making the four and six-cylinder Engines, as well as the six-speed transmission. The building of the Toyota Manufacturing West Virginia allowed Toyota to put American made engines in their cars.

During the storm of June 23, 2016, the flooding of the Elk River, 100 Toyota Manufacturing West Virginia volunteered to help those affected by the storm and flood. Not only did they help with volunteers, they also continue to donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross Response Program. Even Toyota Financial Services assisted those affected, by providing financial relief to the residences.

In 2016 the Toyota Manufacture West Virginia celebrated its 20 years since its opening.

In the past two decades, the Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia has invested more than $8.5 Million in many different types of philanthropic and educational initiative, as well, the team member of the manufacture was in invested more than 70,000 hours in volunteer hours in their community since 2008.
